WoW Classic Anniversary TBC - Fury Warrior DPS Guide
Your fast track to a top-of-the-meters Fury Warrior in WoW Classic Anniversary (TBC). Pre-raid BiS, per-phase raid upgrades, gems, enchants, consumables, talents, and the max-DPS rotation, with every pick ranked by consensus across the major guides and checked against live item stats. Overview
Fury is TBC's premier physical DPS: a dual-wield, rage-fuelled spec that out-scales almost everything as your gear improves, and it brings raid-wide value through Battle Shout, Sunder Armor, and Sweeping Strikes cleave. The whole build is about feeding the rotation and hitting two caps first:
1. Hit the caps. Reach the 9% special-hit cap (~142 Hit Rating, less with Precision talented) so Bloodthirst and Whirlwind stop missing, then push Expertise toward 26 to stop bosses dodging. These two unlock the rest of your damage.
2. Then follow the stat priority: Hit (to cap) > Expertise (toward dodge cap) > Attack Power / Strength > Crit > Haste > Agility. Dual-wielding means a fast off-hand and plenty of Rage to dump.
Set Bonuses to Track
- Ragesteel 2-piece (Blacksmithing crafted) for a strong pre-raid bonus.
- Warbringer Battlegear 4-piece (T4) from Karazhan / Gruul / Magtheridon, the Phase 1 raid goal.
- Destroyer Battlegear 4-piece (T5) from SSC / Tempest Keep, the Phase 2 goal (nearly tied with high-stat off-pieces).
Rotation & DPS
Fury damage is a short priority loop wrapped around two big instant attacks, with spare Rage dumped into Heroic Strike. Cast the highest available ability, then keep auto-attacking. Built from the Icy Veins Fury rotation guide.
The whole rotation in one line: Bloodthirst on cooldown > Whirlwind on cooldown > dump spare Rage into Heroic Strike (use Execute instead below 20% health). Pool Rage before Death Wish and trinkets.
Single-Target Priority
- Bloodthirst on cooldown (6 sec). Your highest damage-per-Rage button, scales with Attack Power.
- Whirlwind on cooldown (10 sec). Hits with both weapons; never let it sit.
- Heroic Strike as your Rage dump. Queue it for your next swing whenever you are above ~60 Rage and Bloodthirst/Whirlwind are not about to come up.
- Below 20% health (Execute phase): keep Bloodthirst and Whirlwind on cooldown, but spend all spare Rage on Execute instead of Heroic Strike. If you reach 30 Rage between Execute globals, fit in a Bloodthirst.
Do not Rage-cap. Sitting at 100 Rage is wasted damage. If Bloodthirst and Whirlwind are both on cooldown and you are flush with Rage, get a Heroic Strike (or Execute) out.
Multi-Target / Cleave
- Whirlwind on cooldown: it strikes up to 4 nearby enemies with both weapons, your best AoE button.
- Cleave replaces Heroic Strike as the Rage dump on packs; it hits a second target.
- Sweeping Strikes before a Whirlwind or Cleave makes your next 5 swings strike an extra target, big burst on 2 to 3 mobs.
- Keep Bloodthirst rolling on your primary target throughout.
DPS Cooldowns

| Rampage | Stacking Attack Power buff, refreshed by your crits | Keep it active the whole fight; reapply if it drops off |
| Bloodrage | Instant Rage plus Rage over time | Pre-pull and on cooldown to avoid Rage starvation |
Add your race CD to the stack: Orcs use Blood Fury, Trolls use Berserking. Pop everything together for a burst window, then again on cooldown.
Rage Management
- Learn the Rage cost of each ability and keep your Rage bar where you can see it.
- Pool Rage just before big cooldowns (trinkets, Death Wish, potion) so the burst window is full of Heroic Strike and Whirlwind.
- Skipping one Heroic Strike or Whirlwind to have Rage ready for a cooldown is usually a damage gain; capping Rage never is.
- Use Bloodrage between pulls so you start each fight with Rage.
Keep These Up
- Whichever of Battle Shout or Commanding Shout you are assigned, all fight.
- Your Rampage buff (refreshed by crits).
- Five stacks of Sunder Armor on the boss (raid responsibility, often shared).
- Demoralizing Shout if you are asked to help mitigate, and Hamstring for kiting or runners.

Mongoose Stacking: The Lightning Speed buff from MH and OH Mongoose procs can stack (double the effect). This is why Mongoose stays on off-hand even after Executioner becomes available in Phase 4.
Talents
The raid-standard Fury build is 17/44/0: 44 points into the Fury tree down to the Bloodthirst capstone, plus a 17-point dip into Arms for rage and threat talents. Use the Wowhead TBC talent calculator to build and export it.
The talents that define the spec:
- Bloodthirst, the Fury capstone and your highest-damage button.
- Dual Wield Specialization (off-hand damage) and Flurry (haste after a crit), the core of Fury's scaling.
- Precision (+3% hit), which helps you reach the hit cap with less gear.
- Cruelty (+5% crit) and Improved Whirlwind for single-target and AoE damage.
- Death Wish and Rampage, your big cooldown and Attack Power buff.
- The Arms dip grabs rage and threat utility (Improved Heroic Strike, Tactical Mastery, Anger Management, Deep Wounds).
Some players run 18/43/0 or move a few flexible points (for example into Improved Demoralizing Shout for raid mitigation). The Fury core down to Bloodthirst is fixed; only the Arms dip varies.
Consumables
Raid consumable loadout for a Fury Warrior. Priority is ordered top-to-bottom: flask + stone + food are non-negotiable on progression, the rest stack with them for burn windows and execute.

Ideal Melee Party Setup
This 5-man subgroup inside a 25-raid gives a Fury Warrior every melee buff. At minimum you must have an Enhancement Shaman.
